My first day at Husky Nutrition Two went very well. I know I am going to like this class. I feel like this class will help prepare me for post graduation. I also think I will get a better understanding of what I may doing for my career. I will be graduating with a Bachelors in Nutritional Sciences this year and I will most likely be working in Community Nutrition. But, that's just a side note. As for my first day of class, it was probably one of my top five best first classes.
The class started out by us meeting at the Ryan building. Sue Coleman gave us the low down on what we will be doing this semester. I am really excited to be working with kids again. It always brightens my day when I see them. After we did the technical things, like have our licences scanned and filled out the driving form, we set out for the center. All seven of us packed into the state van which didn't give us much option but to get cozy quickly, or so I thought. Most of the ride we were silent. A few things were said here and there, but not too much. We were pretty shy. I know we will open up as the semester goes on though.
Once we arrived at the center, we were greeted by Josh and he led us into the office where we will hold the lecture part of our class. There, we listened to his introduction to the course and set up our Weebly accounts. We also were shown where the utensils, cutting boards, food, etc. are located. After class was done, we packed up and drove back to UConn. The drive back wasn't as quiet since we now all had something in common. All in all, it was a great first day.
